Milan, 18 June 2026 - Trustfull, a leader in fraud prevention through digital signal analysis, and In.Te.S.A S.p.A., Qualified Trust Service Provider with over 35 years of experience in digitalization, announced a joint solution for remote digital onboarding that is secure by design, fully passive and compliant with the new European regulatory framework.

The evolution introduced by Regulation EU 2024/1183 (eIDAS 2.0), together with the guidelines of the European Banking Authority (EBA) and AMLA, is reshaping how financial institutions, insurers and telcos identify customers remotely. AML and KYC processes now require additional, constantly updated security controls. At the same time, businesses are under strong pressure to minimize friction: every extra step in the sign up flow translates into customers abandoning the process.

The joint solution addresses both sides of this challenge. Trustfull's passive digital risk scoring is integrated natively into Intesa's digital onboarding and identity proofing flow, corroborating digital identities transmitted via SPID Level 2 and CIE Level 2 for the secure issuance of qualified electronic signature certificates. With no additional steps required from users and no expected impact on conversion rates.

In May 2026, Intesa obtained the Conformity Assessment Report (CAR) from an accredited Conformity Assessment Body, with zero non-conformity findings. The report attests, under the regulation currently in force, full compliance with Article 24 of the eIDAS Regulation and with the international standard ETSI TS 119 461 v2.1.1 for identity proofing.

This makes Intesa and Trustfull among the first operators on the market to offer a jointly certified identity proofing solution that combines institutional validation with advanced fraud protection. The integration of an OSINT layer downstream of SPID and CIE Level 2 is aligned with the provisions of Article 24, paragraph 1 bis, letter c of the eIDAS Regulation, as an additional identification method that guarantees a high level of assurance, consistent with the principle of technological neutrality.

The solution also responds directly to the expectations of financial regulators and EBA guidelines, which call for additional controls in remote identification procedures for anti money laundering purposes.

At every onboarding request, Trustfull analyzes and cross references hundreds of digital signals in real time, looking at the history, reputation, age and blacklist status of the user's email address and phone number, along with global telco checks such as MNO lookup, recent carrier changes and SIM swaps.

The results are concrete: a true positive rate above 85% in detecting identity fraud and synthetic identities, and a false positive rate below 1%, which significantly reduces unjustified blocks on legitimate customers. Since all checks run silently in the backend, with no extra actions required from the user and no induced drop off, there is no friction, nor any impact on conversion

The platform also offers explainability by design: instead of a blind score, it returns detailed reason codes for every rule and signal that contributed to the risk assessment, allowing risk teams to govern flows granularly, especially in borderline cases. Every call is also fully auditable, with detailed logs stored and permanently accessible via the platform and dashboard, enabling ex post reconstruction of any decision in case of audits or disputes.
